Readers Respond: OSHA’s new recordkeeping rule seen as business as usual

OSHA recently published a new electronic recordkeeping rule requiring certain employers, including construction companies with 100 or more employees, to submit information from Forms 300 and 301 annually. The rule also retains the requirement for employers with 250 or more employees to submit information from Form 300A annually. Some respondents to a Construction Dive survey expressed mixed feelings about the rule, with concerns about privacy and OSHA’s regulatory power. However, others saw it as a necessary step to improve safety and accountability. The rule will take effect on January 1, 2024.
