6 Tips for Working in Extreme Temps

During extreme heat waves affecting over 46 million people in the US, home builder associations in hot metros are taking measures to keep their members safe. In Arizona, the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) launched a state emphasis program to combat heat illness. Home builders associations in Southern Nevada and Greater New Orleans are sharing OSHA guidelines and heat safety toolkits with their members. Tips to stay safe include modifying work schedules to start earlier, acclimating to the heat gradually, wearing appropriate clothing, staying hydrated with water, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, and creating shade on jobsites.
