ABC opposes OSHA’s final rule on reporting workplace injuries and illnesses
The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) are against OSHA’s new rule that forces employers to disclose employees’ sensitive medical information, citing concerns about privacy violations and potential misuse of the data. The rule, effective from January 1, 2024, requires establishments with 100 or more employees to submit OSHA Forms 300 and 301, raising worries that personal details could be tracked back to individuals, compromising their privacy. ABC expressed its opposition in June 2022, arguing that the records lack context and don’t accurately reflect a company’s safety efforts, making them susceptible to misinterpretation and false claims.
