Contractors swap hard hats for helmets
Some contractors in the construction industry are replacing traditional hard hats with helmets, which offer better protection for workers. These helmets, compliant with Type II safety standards, provide enhanced protection against falls and lateral impacts, reducing the risk of traumatic brain injuries. Major players in the industry, including Gray Construction and Clark, have made the switch and are now mandating the use of helmets. The transition is gaining ground, as the construction industry has the highest number of work-related traumatic brain injuries in the U.S.
