Employer Summer Prep Should Include Reviewing Your Heat Illness Prevention Plan

Employers with outdoor worksites should ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA’s outdoor heat illness prevention standard. Obligations include training employees, providing adequate water and shade, implementing emergency response procedures, and developing a written Heat Illness Prevention Plan. Certain industries have additional procedures for high-heat conditions. Employers should also address indoor heat hazards.
