Heat illness prevention: New resources from OSHA

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has released a new fact sheet and sticker aimed at promoting heat illness prevention in the workplace. The fact sheet provides guidance for employers on training employees about heat-related illnesses and implementing emergency plans. It includes tips for both indoor and outdoor workers and outlines actions to take when a worker shows symptoms of a heat-related illness or a medical emergency. The “Don’t Wait … HYDRATE” sticker, available in English and Spanish, can be distributed to workers and displayed in workplaces and break areas. It directs individuals to OSHA’s Heat Illness Prevention website for additional resources and information.
