OSHA Fines Sonny Steel Erectors for Continued Fall Protection Violations

OSHA has fined Sonny Steel Erectors Inc., a Houston-based company specializing in commercial structural steel erection, $266,416 for fall protection violations. The violations include one serious violation, one willful violation, and one repeat violation identified during a February 2023 inspection. The company has a history of putting its employees at risk, with hazards associated with violations dating back to 2011 remaining uncorrected. This is not the first time Sonny Steel Erectors has faced OSHA fines, as they were previously fined in October 2022 for another safety violation. The company has 15 days to comply, request an informal conference, or contest OSHA’s latest findings.
